Paisley Paradise!

As a child, I grew up looking at bucket loads of Vera Bradley. I loved the cute, sweet florals- they evoked the happiness and freedom that childhood defines.
"Raspberry Fizz," one of my favorite patterns.
Then, as a seven or eight year old and beyond, I heard inside jokes about paisley prints- how "seventies" they were and how only grandmas wore them. It was one of the most disappointing early moments in my fashion-related life. Fortunately, just as pictures of these fun florals started appearing to come back to haunt me- I got wind of Jil Sander's chic, vintage, and un-hippie new collection that frankly, I'm obsessed with.

This wonderful, happy print is more eclectic than anything. I love the sweet colors; sort of royal purples paired with Easter egg used as an accent. The white is great to out-shadow the brights. This is one of my favorite designs of the spring and one of the most creative color schemes I've seen in a long time.
Even with this entire printed suit, the color isn't overpowering. I have to say, job well done Jil Sander!

As to getting some paisley in your wardrobe, I'd try a piece or two, but not to overpower and obsess over this trend. Because paisley is such a bold print, it can't be over worn. Try a nice skirt or perfect tee or a cami to jazz up your usual outfits.
From Banana Republic, $79.
From Land's End, $23.
From JCrew; Skirt, $79, Top, $79.
Lilly Pulitzer
From JCrew, $88.

From all of the companies I listed above, JCrew had the best selection of Paisley. Although the pieces were quite pricey, they had the most flattering and best prints for my taste. They also had a wonderful selection of swimwear in this print- just in time for spring break!
All in all, this is a nice trend that I will check out myself, but won't be too attached to.

  2. May I simply just say what a relief to discover somebody that actually knows what
they are discussing on the web. You actually know how to bring a problem to light and make
it important. More people really need to look at this and understand this side of the story.

I was surprised that you're not more popular given that you surely have the gift.
