Last night, Molly and I got the honor to attend Northern Virginia Fashion Week's Behind the Scenes Luxe Event. In one word, it was amazing! I managed to get two press passes to the event, and boy was it worth it! The whole night, we were screaming over the band, "They're just like us!" We were referring to the fountain of bloggers in our presence. Besides Molly, I don't know any other bloggers- and it was the coolest thing to meet all of these well-dressed people collected in one room. If I met you last night, it was so great to meet you and I checked each and every one of your blogs that gave me your card! Loved them all!
It was so neat talking to and watching the models get prepped for the big show!
The band was excellent!
The fashion show was phenomenal- and we got to talk to a couple of the wonderful models- one of which, Lindsay, who has a blog which I highly suggest checking out! Dayanne Dainer certainly knows clothing! She was such a sweet person to meet and her clothes were even sweeter!
This mini delicacy, a'la Perfect Pink. I swear, their cake pops introduced me to the best taste in my life! Just perfection.
Scaling the crowds: Molly and I were BY FAR the youngest ones there, so we got quite a few comments on how "cute" and "sweet" and "adorable" we are, but the funniest part was everyone's shocked expression when we handed them our business cards. At least 3 people asked us where our mothers were-across the room? No. At home!
Here are my favorite outfits of the night:
Sorry about some of the unclear pictures- we had to shoot quickly!
This awesome gold number stole the show. I love how she paired it with a ruffled shirt- making the glitter not take all of the attention, making it seem like it wasn't as big of a deal. It balanced out the metallics and brought the look to the next level.Pinch me! Mint? Asymmetrical dress? Am I dreaming? I would wear this in a second! The gold clutch is more than amazing- giving a daring touch to this otherwise sweetie-pie outfit.
Molly's Blazer is from BP. Old Navy top, Anthropologie Skirt, and Steve Madden Sandals. My dress is from Lucca Couture, Oxfords from Libby Edelman, and Dooney and Bourke Vintage Bag.
Fashionably Broke's Natalie had on one of- if not my favorite dress of the night. The tie dye looks so real and vintage- I love it! The best part is the dress can be unbuttoned and she was wearing another dress underneath. Two looks in one night!I love the color in this look! The orange, white, yellow, and blue all get their own spotlight in a unique way, but still keeping the outfit nice and simple. Great look!
I love all of these looks! The crimson is amazing and the polka dots are too cute! Ashley, from La Petite Marmoset, made her jacket! How cool is that? I highly suggest you check out her blog and store- awesome stuff, and I know I'll be ordering!
Molly and I got to try on some adorable Stella and Dot Jewelry- to die for!It was so neat talking to and watching the models get prepped for the big show!
What an awesome event! It's gotten me so excited for October, when there's going to be a whole week full of shows! It was so nice meeting everyone at the event and I can't wait to see you in October!
