Tell it to the Mountains

Hi guys! Yesterday afternoon my friend Elli and I were walking around in the sweltering heat (seriously- 103 degrees!) and came across a construction site and decided to take a few shots. They turned out even better than we anticipated! The piles of dirt complimented the dry grasses perfectly, making it look like we were in the mountainous grasslands. Perfect for any "staycation."
The scenery in this picture is absolutely gorgeous! My top is from American Eagle Outfitters and my Shorts are from J. Crew. My sandals (not pictured) are my signature jellies from Melissa.
I'm loving the editing style on this shot; I look sort of cartoon-ish.
Again, the scenery is stunning. Who knew photographing a pile of dirt and a field of dead grass could turn out so well!
I'm also loving Elli's outfit from yesterday- white v-necks give polish, while her lemon yellow shorts give an extra pop. In the background you can see the proof that we were at a construction site- the whole time we were dodging dump trucks and steam rollers!
They sky was amazingly blue!
The coloring of this shot is great- it reminds me of lomography or a vintage postcard!
This is my favorite photo from the shoot. I absolutely love this! But the title is impossible to come up with.
This is a great shot of Elli!
Again, with the vintage postcard feel. Lovely.
A fun headshot.
I'm liking the angle of this shot!
Oh, the 'mountains' are gorgeous!
Lovely headshot of Elli!
This shot reminds me of a Free People catalog!
This is one of my favorites. The field looks so real. It really is a gorgeous photo.
A few country headshots.
This shot's coloring reminds me a lot of Texas!

Thanks so much for reading! I'd love to hear about your "staycation" photo shoots and fun times! Let me know at fashionalexandria@yahoo.com, or on Facebook!

  1. I'm jealous of that shooting location (not jealous of the heat though).

    1. Thank you Leah! I agree, and I used a combination of Photoshop and Picmonkey.com to edit the photos. I'll definitely check it out!
